My Lady Mary and I hope you and your family have a very Happy and Joyous Holiday season. As you gather with family and friends enjoy all the blessings that you have received and remember those who are less fortunate. All of our Masonic related organizations are a gift that we must all be thankful to be a part of. It extends an opportunity to each and everyone of us to share and unite in the common good.
By now most lodges will have elected their officers for the upcoming Masonic year. Many new officers have recently been installed or soon will be installed. Your Grand Lodge officers are proud and honored to conduct your installations. All you need to do is contact one of them or your local District Deputy to schedule the event.
I know there are Brothers serving in an office for the first time and there are others who are serving again in a station previously occupied. We can all endeavor to improve ourselves. By accepting the elected office or appointment you are accepting a responsibility to your lodge to do the very best job you can do.
I would like to challenge all officers, especially the elected officers, to take the Wisconsin Masonic Code Correspondence Course. The code book and exam (open book) are available on-line or you may call the Grand Lodge Office for assistance. If you are familiar with the code you will be in a better position to provide the leadership your lodge needs.
I had the opportunity to visit the VA health centers in Tomah, Milwaukee and Madison; to meet the VA administrators and our Masonic Service Association Volunteers. I want to personally thank all our brothers and their ladies who provide so many hours of dedicated service to the VA Health organizations. I did not visit King, near Wautoma, but there are a number of Masonic volunteers there I would like to thank as well. You too could be a volunteer. If you are interested in volunteering please contact the Grand Lodge Office.
Happy Holidays
‘on the level’
Joe
